JDW Machinery is owned by Jon Williams, and Dave Harris, who between them have over 75 years’ experience buying, selling, inspecting and refurbishing construction and mining equipment worldwide.

Jon started his career within the family business, Chepstow Plant Hire, in the 1970’s, playing a significant part in managing and growing that company for over twenty years before it became absorbed first into a UK PLC, and then became part of GE Capital.

In 2001 Jon set up his own company Chepstow Plant Services, and with the help of his wife Sian, and their exceptional team, they built it into one of Europe’s top plant and machinery dealers. In 2013 Jon and Sian decided to take time away from the industry to spend time together and to fight her illness away from the hustle and bustle of business life.

Dave has worked with various plant companies in the UK over a long career and was running his own company before joining Jon at Chepstow Plant Services, where he ran the plant fleet and workshops until its closure in 2014.

Over the 40 years he has spent in this industry Jon has bought and sold over 8,000 items of plant and equipment and dealt with customers and suppliers in more than 120 countries worldwide. Jon’s experience ranges from small plant and equipment through to some of the largest mining machines in the World.

Over the 35 years Dave has worked in this industry he has rented, maintained and refurbished equipment ranging from the smallest mini excavators and dumpers through to some of the largest equipment working in the UK, developing a reputation as a highly knowledgeable and competent expert in a wide range of construction and mining equipment.
